What do you look for in an athlete you coach?
I look for focus, commitment, and patience. My favorite athletes are ones who sign up for the process. They are willing to fail as much as they wish for success and they acknowledge the importance of that balance.

Who or what inspires you?
Climbing is awesome because the people in the sport are as inspiring as the rock and movement. I’m inspired by anyone who takes their process seriously and is truly passionate about it. I’m equally inspired by the creativity of movements and holds.

What is your climbing philosophy?
Climb purely. Seek inspiration from your community and do your part to share it.

What do you look for in an athlete you coach?
I’m not a coach. If you are looking to work long term with a coach I encourage you to reach out to someone else because I only do 60 minute AMAs. But I am an open-book with decades of hard won experience and introspection within climbing. And I love helping other people succeed.

Who or what inspires you?
Who? — Those that turn the “impossible” into possible. What? — Aesthetic lines. Outdoors and Inside.

What is your climbing philosophy?
You get good at what you do. Focus on fundamentals until you are good, then figure out the ‘rules’ you need to break to showcase your unique greatness.

What do you look for in an athlete you coach?
The thing I most look for in an athlete is passion. Everything else can be learned. That said, athletes already equipped with patience, focus, and determination will be the ones able to benefit most readily from coaching.

Who or what inspires you?
I'm inspired by novelty and exploration. Seeing new places, meeting new people, trying new lines, and dreaming up sequences to projects not yet done. I love the way it expands my idea of what might be possible.

What is your climbing philosophy?
Relentless optimism. The key to accomplishing anything new is to believe it’s possible. There is always a way, you just have to find it.

What do you look for in an athlete you coach?
I look for an open-minded athlete. One who is willing to build a relationship and trust in the process. Even though climbing is an individual sport I believe the best way to get better is by working together.

Who or what inspires you?
People who strive to be the best they can be at whatever they love doing.

What is your climbing philosophy?
“If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together.” - African proverb
